Athlete Programs
1. RVS High Performance Program
This online Physical Education program (https://richmondoval.ca/highperformance/program-main-page/) provides the opportunity for students, involved in High Performance training, to receive secondary school Physical Education credit by completing over 100 hours of PE activities in conjunction with an approved high performance athletic program. High Performance PE 10-12 online incorporates the required Ministry of Education elements of Personal Health Education through participation in a variety of sports and disciplines in conjunction with online activities.
Interested students acquire their physical activity hours by documenting their training program from an approved athletic program and through competitions in their sporting discipline. This is a course designed for high-level athletes who are interested in creating more time to train by obtaining their Physical Education credit through a sport specific training program. Students considering this course must be highly motivated and prepared to work to their maximum potential in each class.
Students interested in registering for this PE 10-12 High Performance opportunity must verify participation in an existing elite-level training program.
If you are involved in high performance training at the Richmond Olympic Oval, or other similar local programs and would like more information, please contact Ms. Darrell Thomas by email: dathomas@sd38.bc.ca

2. RVS Athlete Development Program (ADP) *NEW*
The Oval, in partnership with RVS, is excited to offer this program (https://richmondoval.ca/highperformance/strength-conditioning/) to enhance and support you with your progress as an athlete in your sport of choice. The RVS Athlete Development program offers a focused approach to improving your sport performance by addressing specific gaps. Through personalized training programs based on performance assessments and your identified areas of improvement, we enhance strength, power, acceleration, agility, and endurance tailored for you to excel in your sport.
Thus, each athlete will have a specific and targeted training plan created and overseen by the team at the Oval. This plan will be mindful of your overall training load for your sport. Students completing this Oval program have the option to enroll in the RVS Fitness and Conditioning 10, 11 or 12 course providing course credit toward graduation. To receive course credit, students will be required to complete training logs and course reflections through our Moodle course platform with the support of Ms. Thomas.
ADP is available for a wide range of sports! Are you involved with baseball, football, hockey, paddle sports, skiing, snowboarding, rugby, softball, soccer, swimming or another sport? ADP will support you to take your training to the next level!
If you are involved in this ADP program, or other similar local programs and would like more information, please contact Ms. Darrell Thomas by email: dathomas@sd38.bc.ca
